Our Wellness Philosophy

At Amani, we create welcoming spaces where our community and clients can reconnect with themselves through mindful movement and presence. We offer experiences that nurture mental well-being through yoga, breath-work, meditation, and nourishing meals.

The Amani Project’s mission is to make mental healthcare more accessible, inclusive, and reflective of diverse experiences while honoring our shared need for genuine human connection.

The Amani project hosts bi-monthly Yoga & Breakfast gatherings at The Capital on Bath in Rosebank, and offer private and corporate sessions by request.
Through The Amani Project, we also partner with organisations to develop wellness practices that are sustainable, impactful, and rooted in care in order to support healthier and more inclusive workplaces.

Founder,  Thando Gold

I am Thando Gold, the Director of The Amani Project. I am a 200 hour Vinyasa instructor with a deep love for teaching people how to breathe and gently regulate their emotions.

What I cherish most about this work is the reminder that we are all allowed to arrive exactly as we are. Without masks, without expectations, simply with honesty. Wellness, to me, is not about perfection. It is about presence. Each time we step onto the mat, we carry pieces of our story with us. There is joy, grief, uncertainty, and hope. In both stillness and movement, we begin to meet parts of ourselves we may not have known were waiting.

As a teacher, I do not stand above anyone. I stand beside. My role is to create a safe and steady space, and to gently hold up a mirror so that, in the reflection, each person can recognise that they already are what they have been searching for.

My practice and teaching are guided by the quiet promises of the mat, surrender, presence, and truth. Through this, I hope to offer a simple invitation. You are welcome here. You can come exactly as you are.
